The 10-stamp booklet

The 10-stamp booklet

31/01/2016 - On Monday, 11th of January Canadian Post Office presented its new definitives issue, made up of 5 permanent-rate stamps (without any value indication) for everyday use. The subjects of these new issue are some of UNESCO World Heritage sites and exactly: the Landscape of Grand Pre, Ontario's Rideau Canal, SGang Gwaay on Anthony Island, Alberta's Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, and the Old Town Lunenburg.

To tell the truth, the five sites pictured on new stamps are not quite new, for they were already present on a commemorative issue of May 2014. On the 2014 stamps the place name was inscribed in the lower part of the design, the value was specified and size larger. New stamps does not show value indication and seem not to present the name of the place depicted on them. Examining them in depth we discover that the location name is shown, with microprinting tecnique: on the stamp showing the Old Town Lunenburg it can be found written on top of the trees near the upper right.

The new stamps are sold in 10-stamp booklet that contains two of each of the five different stamps, while the 30-stamp booklet contains six of each; they all have die-cut perforations. There is also five-stamp souvenir sheet with moisture-activated gum and conventional perforations.
